Routeburn Track

The Routeburn Track traverses 32 kilometres of Mount Aspiring and Fiordland National Parks, taking you through New Zealand World Heritage Area.
Stunning waterfalls, abundant beech trees, and a forest foundation of ferns compete with native forest birds. As you gain elevation, the snow-capped mountains and hanging valleys show their history carved by ancient glaciers. The tussock and sub-alpine vegetation and reflective tarns now dominate the landscape. Drop back into the rich forest of ferns and moss and follow the meandering rivers. Wake up to the mountain parrots as they curiously explore your hiking boots, and whether you indeed need them to finish your hike. Stand in the rainbow and mist of Earland Falls, a 174 metre waterfall, before heading up to Key Summit for 360-degree panoramic views of the Fiordland mountains. Now that's what a good hike's all about!
